Wapiti Woods is nestled in the unsurpassed beauty of Elk County’s Benezette Township along the Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek and the Elk Scenic Drive. Located in the heart of the PA Elk Range, Wapiti Woods also sits in the center of the PA Wilds providing an ideal base camp to explore the whole area while also offering a place to just hide away or bond with a loved one, family or friends.

Modern cabin rentals, quiet grounds……and nature all around

Our new guest cabin rentals opened in October 2003 and provide both comfort and convenience. With a wood burner fireplace in every cabin, comfortable queen and/or single futon beds, full kitchen and furnished sitting and game area, you have a pretty sweet cabin. As a bonus for the romantics, we have two cabins that also have whirlpool tubs that face the wood burner and fit just right for two people.

Your cabin faces a rambling stream and Moshannon State Forest complete with fire ring, porch swing, and picnic table. Add a gathering area with a picnic pavilion, on-site walking trail along the old Buffalo and Western Railroad bed along with a separate “Shanty” that houses a laundry, TV with VCR/DVD, games, books, movies and a community phone for local calls. To complete the package, the guest cabin rentals also come with dark skies, a wooded setting, no vehicles to be seen, occasional wildlife like turkey or PA Elk and an occasional train passing along the active railroad line sitting across the stream from the cabins. And, all topped off with sincere, friendly and polite service.

What about cabin rentals for group gatherings?

Do you need a place for a small wedding, a family reunion, a central location for friends to meet from all corners of the northeast Midwest and mid-Atlantic, a retreat or small class trip? With enough beds to sleep up to 28 people in six separate guest rental cabins, Wapiti Woods has hosted a summer wedding and reception, a high school junior class trip and numerous group gatherings to renew old friendships and start new ones. Local caterers can provide meals and local rentals are available for tents, chairs, tables and other items needed to make your reunion or event work in any type of weather. Heck, even a day trip for a group canoe trip down the Clarion River would work with easy access to local liveries. Top it off with access to local guides for elk tours or even horse trail rides to give you, and yours, a complete and fun-filled stay.
